Bringing the Power of Sharing to Public Service

Public service broadcasters all over the world are facing considerable financial challenges and being expected to produce more public service content on more platforms at the same time. These challenges are constantly growing, and meeting them calls for a new approach to international cooperation among public service broadcasters radically different to all that has gone before.

"Digital global collaboration is one approach that could lead to more unique, cheaper public service content", says Henrik Hartmann in an article meant for the Global Media Exchange and Cooperation Workshop at BaKaFORUM 2010.

Based on a request of NORDVISION - a television and media partnership involving the five Nordic public service broadcasting organizations funded by license fees -, and on the BaKaFORUM mission, to serve as a platform for exchange and cooperation in a world of cultural diversity, BaKaFORUM in close cooperation with Nordvision organizing the Global Media Exchange & Cooperation Network during BaKaFORUM 2010.

The BaKaFORUM Mission

BaKaFORUM TV and Media Forum is a meeting point and platform for exchange and cooperation for broadcasters, independent producers as well as cultural, educational and societal organizations interested in quality TV work, global education and development education. The annual conference includes sessions, a contest, screenings and workshops. During the year, BaKaFORUM is committed to continuously support common initiatives and projects in line with its mission.

BaKaFORUM working process is an annual meeting and continuous cooperation and support for projects connected with the BaKaFORUM focus.
