The BaKaFORUM Opening (Jan 29, 2010), is all about the role of TV/Media and the condition of foreigners or migrant people in a situation of cultural diversity. It's all about migration, integration and identity. A global issue, people moving from country to country, from continent to continent, for economic reasons, for climate reasons, being driven in and out by conflicts, cultural or racist tensions.
The BaKaFORUM Opening is dealing with this through film and TV programmes:
In presence of director Laura Halilovic (Poland/Bosnia/Italy),
'Me, My Gipsy Family and Woody Allen' is an internationally successful first documentary, by the 19 year young gipsy director Laura Halilovic. She tells the story of her family and the situation of gipsies in Italy. Read more about 'Gipsy Family'
In presence of director Adze Ugah (Nigeria/South Africa),
'The Burning Man - Ernesto Alfabeto Nhamuave' is a report about a Mozambique immigrant and victim of South African township riots, directed by Adze Ugah, a Nigerian filmmaker against racism. More about 'The Burning Man'
In presence of the PLURAL+ BaKaFORUM Award Winner,
'PLURAL+' is a selection of excellent short films entered into the UN Alliance of Cvilizations PLURAL+ festival, a youth-produced video festival on migration, integration and diversity. More about the 'PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival'
