Full Length and Shortcut – the New BaKaFORUM Screening Format

Full Length and Shortcut, in all BaKaFORUM Program areas

This is the effect of success: Screenings are the heartbeat of BaKaFORUM 2007. Screenings are a part of BaKaFORUM since 2002 and got an increasingly positive feedback. They give you a unique possibility to have a look at outstanding new productions from a great number of countries and to discuss them in an international atmosphere.

A new profile will make screenings even more attractive: Two formats – full-length screenings and shortcuts. Thematic windows and reruns of core themes will make it easier to select your personal way through the BaKaFORUM 2007 offer. Non-topical viewings in the evening offer the opportunity for participants to show (part of) your own productions, if they are not fitting into a thematic window (on site submission possible).

Formats

The full length screening is the area for productions selected for their special interest in content, design, production value, approach etc., and shall give an opportunity to have a short discussion with a producer or an editor of the programme.

The shortcuts permit a view over the range of quality productions in the area. Shortcut screening is limited on a quote of 10 minutes max./program, without any intervention by producers or editors (individual viewing facilities, and comfortable meeting places are available).

Thematic Windows

Thematic windows follow the  structure of the seminar. The screenings start with the overall theme of producing peace, and programmes related to this core theme (in a wide understanding, including reasons for war, conditions for peace etc.) shall have a place in the other sessions. But BaKaFORUM 2007 like always will emphasize high production quality in all areas: School and Teachers TV/media;  Science & Society and Cross Media; Children and Youth Productions.

Registration

Please register your programs for screening in the registration area. You may want to register the same programme for both the screening and the contest.

Please understand that the international program committee will have to select the programmes for screening. Thus, we recommend to indicate a time code of a shortcut quote with your submission, in case the programme may not be selected for a full-length screening. Programme registration deadline: December 1st 2006.

If you need more information about the organisation, contact the BaKaFORUM secretariat.

If you need more information about the content, first check this website , then contact the BaKaFORUM program manager, Markus Nikel.
