How do educational, science and societal TV and media deal with war and peace? Are they instruments of manipulation, hatred and war making? Or can they contribute to a better understanding, to “producing peace”?
War is reality, war is taking place on some 170 „war theatres“ around the globe. And media play a role for war or peace. They very often risk becoming an instrument of manipulation, hatred and war making.
Thus, the international BaKaFORUM program committee decided to focus in 2007 on:
Producing Peace by Educational, Science and Societal Television and Media
BaKaFORUM 2007 will approach “Producing Peace” in a wide understanding.

School and Teachers TV, Science & Society, Cross media
BaKaFORUM 2007 still will include the traditional elements – connected to the overall theme, if possible – like school and teachers TV/media, science & society and cross media.
School and Teachers TV/media will extend the dialogue between producers and users of educational offers to Europe and to other regions in a global perspective.
Science and Society is immediately connected with the overall theme of “producing peace” by topics like inter-cultural relations, climate, natural resources like water, diseases and health and other subjects.
Cross media – which in 2007 we combine with science & society - is an obvious chance for educational offers in a wide meaning of the word, i.e.: for formal education in schools, universities or in vocational training, but is getting more and more room in large audience offers too.
